The perks of waiting

Have you ever woken up with one thought - waiting for something, someone?

Actually we’re so used to waiting.

To live in a waiting mode - waiting for time, things, people, events…

There’s nothing more right than taking the initiative for stuff, but there’s always those other things that do not depend on us so we have to wait.

And even though it’s hard to count the sand, the sand clocks do have end.

And on the other side is what we’ve been waiting for…

But before ending up with the long awaited thing, we have to go through a long path.

So today I’m sharing the perks of waiting :)

Waiting teaches us patience.

It does, it teaches us that not everything turns out the way we want, when we want and how we want. And patience is the key to achieving goals.

Waiting makes us grateful.

The longer we wait for something, the more we cherish it. And this may not apply to our delayed lunch at the restaurant, but it does apply to truly important things.

Waiting as a way of living.

Have you heard of mindfulness? It actually means to live “now” without adding meaning to the present, to be aware of your surroundings, to experience the moments, to bring awareness to your mind, thoughts and senses.

Waiting can make you experience mindfulness and learn to appreciate the process and not just the result.

I hope these 3 pluses of waiting made you look at waiting in a different perspective and that it doesn’t feel so meaningless and boring anymore ;)

Till next time,

Victoria
