They say we're creatures of habit.
Habit - routine behavior, appearing regularly.
But why rely on autimatic behaviors?
Even most effective people need time for a break - a break from thinking about it all, and this is what habits are here for. They are behavioral patterns that we don't need to think about.
Scientists say that it takes 21 days to create a habit - it all starts with the decision, then comes motivation - we have to perform this behavior 21 days for it to become a routine.
But not all habits are good.
I don't believe there are people with no bad habits. And can we get rid of bad habits?
We can break a habit.
What do we need for that?
66 days of motivation.
It turns out that breaking a habit is harder than creating one.
But there're a few things that can help with breaking those bad habits.
It helps if you start breaking your bad habit when you're on a vacation.
Change of scenery is a great excuse for change in behavior. It just takes motivation to keep the new behavior pattern when you go back home.
Other effective method of breaking a habit is replacing it with a new one.
To replace a behavior with a new one is way easier than just removing it.
So if you're on the verge of breaking a bad habit, figure out a good one to integrate in your everyday life :)
